Our clients first approached bi Design on a recommendation from their builder that they seek professional advice before advancing their project to transform a large 1970’s detached house.
At the point of our first involvement many rooms within the house had already been decorated, the kitchen was refitted and a new en-suite bathroom was created next to the master bedroom.
The client brief was to add an additional utility boot room, convert the garage to form a games room and add a new garage with annexe over and most importantly remodel the exterior so the quality of the inside matched the high quality interior.
bi Design presented two different options to the clients a traditional design and a contemporary design.
The traditional design involved adding a new brick plinth and re-skinning the external walls with new facing bricks. The windows were to have new stone surrounds with herringbone brickwork in-fills.
The contemporary design which was the client’s preferred option involved rendering the existing brickwork with a new smooth through colour render above a new brick plinth. Vertical and horizontal timber cladding was to be used to create visual breaks within the render. Dark grey aluminium windows were used throughout with matching coloured fascias.
