Our clients approached bi Design to develop a 1970’s bungalow to create a 4 bedroom family home with modern living spaces.
Our Concept was based around the covenant attached to the house which stipulated the building footprint shouldn’t be increased and working within the confinements of the conservation area. The footprint was retained and the additional accommodation was created on a new first floor. We presented the design to our client with a rendered 3D model which transforms materials to give a more realistic feeling to the design.
The outcome was to break the new one and half story dormer roof with a glazed link to present the property as though it was previously two small cottages linked together. To tie the ground and first floor together the whole house was re-rendered and new cill and lintel details were installed. The house incorporates a mixture of traditional and modern details to create a striking stand-alone property.
