The proposed property is set in a substantial plot in the open countryside of Derbyshire.
Historically, the property had been extended and altered at various stages since the house was built, and our clients wanted to create a contemporary, country retreat that is befitting of the location and plot size.
Our brief was to design a 5-bedroom family home, complete with a luxurious master suite, a large open plan kitchen and dining area, office space, playroom, and a double garage with a gym above and a carport. Working with the existing proportions of the front gable, the proposed design of the property is significantly larger than its original footprint.
With a railway line running close by, privacy around the property was an important consideration, so a wall has been added to create an exclusive, private property.
Working closely with the local planning officer in South Derbyshire, we successfully reached a positive outcome, and approval has been given to create this beautiful family home.
