Joiners Arms, Quarndon

Our clients approached bi Design having just taken over the Joiners Arms. Having successfully transformed the Bulls Head in Repton Chilled Pubs were looking to rekindle the Joiners Arms glory days where it was once a destination pub in the affluent area of Quarndon.

The problem with the existing pub was predominantly the number of customers which related to the pub no longer serving food. The kitchen facilities within the pub were very limited and would make it very difficult to serve a high standard of food to the number of covers available. A large area of the pub was designated as a function room which massively under utilised the usable dining and drinking areas.

The solution was to design a soft industrial extension to the rear of the pub linking to the existing flat roof cellar. The extension was to be heavily detailed with feature Northern lights and large top hung windows. A new entrance was required to create a warm and welcoming approach to the establishment. The entrance was designed from an oak frame taking inspiration from the name. ‘The Joiners’

The outcome was to scale down the size of the extension to just incorporate a new larger kitchen facility which would efficiently serve the number of covers currently available. The inside is to be fully refurbished offering a unique dining and drinking experience.
