Our clients approached bi design wanting to extend their modern detached house and where possible improve the external appearance.
Our clients liked traditional properties and were keen to have a grand looking house, the plot certainly justified a better-looking house.
The concept was presented to the client in a 3D model created in-house as the changes to the house made it unrecognisable from the existing. The basis for the design was to replace a single storey extension with a new two-storey extension which would have a large kitchen dining living space.
To improve the external appearance the house had a new brickwork skin around the perimeter as the existing brick didn’t suit a traditional house. New feature balconies and bay windows surrounded in stone were designed to the front to maximise the views over the Bretby countryside.
The use of the 3D model helped the client visualise the extent of the changes and fall in love with the design.
Retaining the main external walls of the house and the existing roof made the design possible negating the need to knock the property down.
