New Kaisho Karate Hub
bi Design were approached by the client Kaisho Karate to change the use of an industrial unit into a bespoke studio karate dojo.
The existing first-floor space is an open plan with beautiful king post trusses. The space is perfectly sized to accommodate a medium-size class with equipment. Our challenge was to improve the entrance access area and external appearance.
A proposed extension over the ground floor office was designed to incorporate a revised staircase layout and incorporate a large viewing gallery for parents and spectators.
Building over the existing office and recladding the outside of the front of the building transforms what was once a run-down industrial unit into a welcoming high-quality Karate Hub. The large feature window to the front doubles up as signage and letting natural light into the viewing area.
