Childrens Day Nursery, Boldmere
Title: A Longstanding Partnership: Little Ripley Day Nurseries’ New Purpose-Built Facility Near Completion
As the finishing touches are made to the new purpose-built nursery on Boldmere Road in Sutton Coldfield, we at bi Design Architecture are proud to reflect on this successful project for Little Ripley Day Nurseries. This marks the third building we’ve designed and delivered for this valued client, alongside four other projects where we’ve provided strategic planning support.
Little Ripley Day Nurseries, a trusted provider of childcare across 16 locations in the Midlands, including seven in Sutton Coldfield, has relied on us repeatedly for their growth and expansion. This longstanding relationship is built on trust, shared vision, and the consistent delivery of exceptional outcomes tailored to their needs.
A collaborative effort, delivered on time
This project, like the others in our collaboration, showcases the seamless teamwork between the contractors to ensure the project was delivered on time. The construction has been expertly managed by Space Build and Design with whom we’ve worked closely to ensure every detail aligns with the client’s vision. They have also worked on several of Little Ripley’s previous projects, ensuring consistency and high standards across their portfolio. Planning consultant Charlotte El Hakiem also played a key role in navigating the approval process, ensuring the project moved forward smoothly and efficiently.
A design that fits its surroundings
Replacing the original St Michael’s Church Hall, the new two-storey nursery has been thoughtfully designed to harmonise with the surrounding residential and commercial properties. The final design offers a modern aesthetic that blends seamlessly into Boldmere Road, meeting both the client’s and the local community’s needs.
The relocation of the rear car park to the front of the property allowed us to create a safe and welcoming garden area for children. This adjustment also maintains unobstructed access for the adjacent Scout hut, showing how functionality and thoughtful design go hand in hand.
Building a portfolio of success
For Little Ripley, this new nursery not only adds to their growing portfolio but also demonstrates their commitment to providing quality childcare environments. Each of their properties reflects a consistent branding while remaining bespoke to their individual settings – a balance we have worked hard to achieve.
This latest project highlights the importance of long-term relationships. By understanding Little Ripley’s values and operational needs, we’ve been able to deliver spaces that support their goals, whether through full architectural services or strategic planning advice.
We look forward to seeing the new Boldmere Road nursery open its doors and continuing our partnership with Little Ripley Day Nurseries for many years to come.
