bi Design are pleased to report the successful approval of a large bespoke property at Tower Farm, Swarkestone within South Derbsyhire District Council.
The application looked to gain approval for a large contemporary property to replace an existing bungalow. Details of the application can be found at 9/2019/0358
The existing site had an existing small bungalow with a footprint of 41m2 along with various outbuildings. The site is located outside of a development boundary and was therefore under much stricter policy. The approved new dwelling footprint represents a 500% increase on the existing plus the new garage.

Over the years we have been developing our 3d modelling skills and have always been able to show our clients 3d models of their projects. We have also been able to create cgi images to show what the project will look like when it is completed, all of which have been great tools to help our clients visualise their plans.
However, we always felt that our clients still needed some imagination to visualise what their building would be like if you were actually in it, and what it would be like to walk around, and see where the all-important sunlight would be at certain times of the day.
We are very pleased to announce that we now have the in-house capability, to show our clients via a web link to their own computers, what it will be like to see their project from inside and out. When you consider the value of the project large or small it is a really powerful tool to remove any unknowns and uncertainties in your investment.
At bi Design we are always looking at ways we can add value to both the project and the service we provide and this is another great reason to work with us on your project. We are constantly learning about the latest and best software packages, and keeping up to date with current best practice, all with the intention of providing our clients with the best service.
This is an example of our work for a one off bespoke new house, our client loved being able to see what both the inside and outside spaces would be like, and how the furniture could be integrated.

bi Design are please to report the successful approval of a large house remodelling scheme on Barr Lane, Barton Under Needwood within East Staffordshire Borough Council.
The application looked to take a modest bungalow and detached garage in the open countryside and transform it into a large two storey house with triple garage. Details of the application can be found at P/2018/01609
The existing bungalow and garage had a gross internal area of 115m2. The approved design has increased the overall gross internal area to 323.5m2 a percentage increase of 181%.
A key aspect of the approval was raising the roof on the bungalow to achieve full first floor accommodation. The eaves and ridge heights were both raised by 2.2m.
The outcome has dramatically altered the appeal, value and development potential of the site.

The Peak District Challenge is on 13th July 2019 details of the event can be found here. If you would like to support Luke you can go to his fund raising page here. bi Design is pleased to announce the launch of their new website showcasing the wide range of architectural services they provide and a host of case studies and images from a selection of the 1,300 projects they have been involved in.
The walk was a great success and the hardest thing Luke has ever experienced. The Orange Hoody Crew met the target of raising £10,000 and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored and supported the walk.
On Sunday 30th April 2017 Luke, his brother Adam and a team of 21 others from the “Orange Hoody Crew” are aiming to complete a gruelling 40 mile walk from Stoke on Trent to Sutton Coldfield.
Although he usually runs 10 to 20 miles a week Luke doesn’t remember the last time he walked further than 3 miles and is looking forward to really challenging himself. The 15 hour trek is going to push the whole team to great lengths and is sure to create a number of painful blisters!

bi Design is delighted to announce the successful approval of the proposed Piazza building at Mercia Marina. Following the success of the award winning boardwalk building Madecorn Leisure instructed bi Design to rework the previous approved Piazza scheme to increase the floor area and the functionality of the Tower.
Working closely with the clients the approved Design utilises a steeper roof pitch which will be used to create additional office space. The design maintains many similar elements to the Boardwalk building with feature angled glazed gable ends, stonework, Timber cladding and the new four storey tower with angled cross roof.
Early discussions are underway for the building to be open in early 2018.
