FAQs

How much does it cost to work with you?

Our fees depend on the needs of each client, all our clients requirements and objectives are different. We will be happy to provide a fee proposal when we have seen your project and understand your aims and the level of our involvement, which can range from gaining planning and building regulations approval through to obtaining quotes, and supervising the building contract through to completion handover.

Your initial consultation with us is at our expense and you will be under no obligation to use bi Design.

I've seen a house/commercial building that I like will you be able to make my building look just like this one?

Yes we probably could, but we would first like to chat with you about how you are going to use the house or building and what are your “must haves” in addition to how you would like it to look.

We will also advise you on the best solution for you once we have seen the location of where your building will be sited and advise you on local planning regulations. We will always offer alternative suggestions that we believe will meet your goals, be realistic in relation to your budget and we would love to make your commercial property or home look even better than the one you have seen.

How soon can you start?

I am sure you will be pleased to hear that we always give our existing clients priority and we will not commit to timescales with existing or new clients that we believe are unachievable.

However, we do understand that new clients will sometimes have particular time constraints which mean we may need to start working on designs straight away.

If we have capacity or can re-schedule work without affecting our existing clients we will always look at this and give you an honest answer on the date that we can start working with you.

Another designer has offered to design my project for less, will you match them?

Design is not a commodity and cannot be compared easily on a like for like basis, all designers will provide different solutions and you should choose a designer on the basis of the expertise and experience they can bring to your project. At bi Design we are always aiming to provide ideas and solutions that will add value. If you are altering your property in any way then it is an investment and the design is an important part of that investment

We will always give you a competitive quotation based upon our extensive experience achieved from delivering over 1,000 commercial and residential architectural projects.

You can expect us to produce design solutions that enable you to achieve your objectives, building regulations and technical drawings for your building contractors, and take the pain out of the planning process on your behalf and so on. But the important thing is for you to be comfortable with the way your architectural design team listens to you and works with you, and you must have confidence in their abilities, experience and knowledge that is directly related to your building project.

At bi Design you will get far more added value, customer care and we will never give you an off-the-shelf solution. Why not meet with us at our expense, we will be delighted to provide you with our fee proposal and you can decide the best path for you, with no obligation at all for you to work with us.

I've heard getting planning permission is a nightmare, will this be a problem?

In a word, no.

We have worked with planning departments all over the UK and we have a great relationship with the local planning departments covering the Burton Upon Trent, Derbyshire, Sutton Coldfield, Staffordshire and numerous others. We’ve won awards from some of them! We know what planning officers look for and we also work to ensure our work complies with the national planning policies that cover the entire country.

We are very experienced in obtaining planning approval and work hard on your behalf at every stage to take away stress and hassle from you. Working with us should be seen as an investment rather than a cost, as we will do our up most to add value and in all aspects of your project.
